“Purple Bud” white tea (Zǐ Yá Chá) from Lincang, Yunnan Province, is a unique and rare white tea made from a naturally occurring purple-leaf mutation (Camellia sinensis var. Assamica).

The purple hue develops from high concentrations of anthocyanins — antioxidant pigments also found in blueberries and grapes — which protect the young buds from intense UV light in the high mountains.

Processed with the gentle withering and drying typical of white tea, it combines the softness of white tea with the depth and fruity-spicy complexity of Yunnan terroir.

This tea will embrace you with absolutely unusual, complex taste and floral aroma, which is very refreshing, intense, and deep. It's quite difficult to compare to any other tea. Its gentle nature and fruity complexity make it both a wellness tea and a sensory indulgence.
